Update: May 11th, 2007 - We had an interesting night last night. Someone a few months ago had this great idea we would honor the anniversary of John's passing as a group. Somewhere some bald man is laughing at us :)

It is my personal opinion that 2006 is just going to be a bad year in general. Maybe it's the 6 in the number, maybe 2007 with "7" will be somewhat better. We all still miss John terribly.

Memorial / Services

The memorial was held on Saturday, June 17th at 2pm.

Many family and friends attended, enough to fill up the hall. John would have appreciated it I'm sure.

How did this happen?

By the witness and newspaper accounts, John was traveling to Sequim, WA on a gorgeous day from his home in Issaquah. He was traveling on his favorite of three motorcycles, a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan Meanstreak. Within just a few miles of his destination, a tire came off a truck heading in the opposite direction of the two lane highway. The tire struck John on his bike, causing him to loose control and go into the opposite lane. He was killed instantly when he impacted and was vaulted over a Jeep that was following behind the truck.

Can I get a window decal/sticker like the one above?

Yes! We've made over two hundred and people still want more. They are weatherproof and have held up well. Please email your request (name, address, number of stickers) to my email address shown above. I'll print out a fresh batch and mail them off quickly.

Will there be a memorial motorcycle ride?

I'm still hoping so. More than 10 of us appear to have rode to the memorial, and 6 of us from this side were able to go over - all sporting our In Memory Of stickers. No official ride has been planned yet.
